Alright, do I really need to take a nap if I went to bed early last night? After we've been working and playing and running around and lunching, it's just so tempting for me retreat to the comfort of my bed, once Goose has gone down for her nap. But of course I'm still reading through EofTW, so I really ought to be working on that instead, particularly because it's already a week overdue and someone else wants it. Hmm. If I turn it in, as I ought to do, I'll lose my momentum and I'll have to wait who knows how long for it to be available again. By the way, it does have a glossary. It was so smart for me to figure that out after I was halfway through it. It's coming in handy. I'm just now reading about the Aiel Waste. Well, the Goose is quacking so I gotta go.

I'm finally "into" The Eye of the World. The fantasy world is fun--the powerful female archtype is alive and well. I do wish I had a glossary of terms, though.
I'm still dabbling with Proust. I would like to read it more diligently; my nibbling on it here and there reminds me of slowly eating a Harry and David truffle. I would love to get wrapped up in the novel but my reading time comes in bits and pieces and very often late at night, and that pattern is much more conducive to the candy fiction I've been reading. Remembrance of Things Past is perched on the edge of the sofa. I don't put it away because that would be conceding defeat. I will read it. Sometime.

Well the apples were not yet ripe. I cut one open, and the flesh was pale green. Bummer. It was a cute little apple, didn't even have a worm hole in it.

I'm continuing to nibble on Proust.

So we tried to rescue the peaches that were knocked off our tree in the storm last night. There weren't actually that many in the dirt. But when I looked at our little apple tree, I could see only one or two apples left on, and a dozen or so on the ground. I wonder if they'll taste good?

Okay, "Fangs" is because I always remember, especially when I am dreaming, that my true state--if everything is stripped away--features four ugly, pointy fangs in the middle of my mouth.
I have three crowns and one veneer included in my smile. Of these four falsies, only one has never popped off to expose the fang lying beneath. Okay, that's not accurate. Two of my crowns haven't popped off, but one of those is a replacement for a veneer that popped off 3 times in one year (yikes).
Whenever I imagine myself in a survival scenario, like being stuck on the island in Lost, the thing that always chills me to my bones is that my tooth could pop off, and I would spend the rest of my days looking scarier than Jaws.
